We’re inviting you to celebrate World EV Day

Friday, 9 September is World EV Day. As New Zealand’s nationwide EV charging network, we’re celebrating in various ways around the country. Whether you are a new EV owner or passionate about creating a more sustainable future, we encourage you to get involved in any way you can.

If you’re in Auckland, visit the ChargeNet Bombay HPC (Mill Rd) site today to speak to our team on-site and discover how our rapid charging sites allow you to travel further with confidence and ease. We’ll be handing out coffees and cookies until lunchtime. We can answer any questions about our rapid charging stations and will ensure you’re stocked up with snacks and a fully charged EV before you hit the road again.

Speaking of road trips, today we’re partnering with the team at Roady to show how achievable a carbon-neutral road trip really is. Follow ChargeNet and Roady on Instagram as we take the Polestar 2 on an overnight adventure from Wellington to Castlepoint. Road tripping has never been so sustainable or easy to plan. With over 280 rapid charging stations nationwide, we’re excited to be driving New Zealand’s electric vehicle future.

If you are in Wellington, you can get involved in World EV Day by helping the ChargeNet team as we hunt for a new hyper-rapid charging site in The Windy City. 11% of Wellington’s private vehicle fleet is electric. Yet the compact size of our capital makes it difficult to locate and develop new sites in the CBD. Before you submit a site, some criteria must be met. Any new site must have a minimum of six parking bays, 24-hour access in a safe, well-lit area, be close to amenities, and have good access to State Highway 1. As you’re out and about enjoying World EV Day, you can submit suggestions for a new rapid charging site here.

Finally, no matter how you plan on getting involved in World EV Day, we encourage you to share your stories with us. Whether going fully electric on your coffee run or charging your EV at any of our 280 strategically positioned charging stations, we want to hear about it. Tag us on social media or use the hashtag #ChargeNetNZ.
