April 2025 – With over 296 strategically positioned fast-charging sites, ChargeNet has provided EV drivers with a convenient and reliable charging network across New Zealand since its conception in 2015. As we continue investing in a future-proof network, rising electricity and operating costs, particularly network charges, remain a challenge.
On Wednesday 9 April 2025, pricing at all ChargeNet-owned chargers will increase by $0.05 per kWh, including GST.
This will be the first price change ChargeNet has implemented in more than two years, with our last adjustment occurring in November 2022.
Pricing varies by location, so we recommend checking the ChargeNet map or app for the latest charging rates.
New pricing* – effective on 9 April 2025
Charger type | Current price | New price |
AC | $0.40 | $0.45 |
DC Fast (75kW and below) | $0.80 | $0.85 |
DC Hyper (150kW and above) | $0.85 | $0.90 |
*This pricing change applies only to ChargeNet-owned sites; third-party operators on our network set their own rates.
Why are prices changing?
Since November 2022, we’ve held our prices steady despite rising costs from electricity distribution businesses, as well as other operational expenses. While we’ve absorbed these costs for the past few years, this adjustment is necessary to ensure we can continue providing a high-quality, reliable charging experience for EV drivers across New Zealand.
We truly value and appreciate our customers, and are grateful for your ongoing support as we continue to improve EV charging across the country. Throughout 2025, we’re growing our network with 20 new sites in the pipeline—making charging more convenient and ensuring you stay powered wherever the road takes you.
